The female quartet, Virtue releases their first album, self-titled, with Verity which debuts at #6 on the Billboard US Gospel charts

Verity releases WOW Gospel 1998, the first album from the best selling gospel compilation series.

Fred Hammond releases Pages of Life – Chapters I & II, which sweeps at the Stellar Awards in addition to receiving Gold status the year of its release and in 2006, receives 2x Platinum status.

Donnie McClurkin releases his first international live album, Live in London and More…which received Platinum status and peaked at #1 on the US Gospel charts

Richard Smallwood with Vision releases Persuaded: Live in DC which received multiple award nods including a Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Artist,Traditional and several nominations for Stellar Awards

BMG purchases Zomba Group, obtaining Verity Records along with imprints such as Fo Yo Soul Entertainment owned by Kirk Franklin and F. Hammond Music, owned by Fred Hammond

Vickie Winans releases Bringing It All Together, the first album after her four year hiatus, debuting #1 on the gospel charts, winning five Stellar Awards and earning a Grammy nomination
